Shaharah Bridge, Wikimedia.org, © Bernard Gagnon The Shaharah is constructed from limestone, which is highly prevalent in the area. In the unlikely event that the Turkish military launched an invasion, the bridge was made to be quickly destroyed. Not only is it a functional bridge, but it can also be collapsed with the use of a massive hammer due to the crumbling limestone.
